The K64.5 billion ($6.6 billion) budget presented on November 11 by Minister of Finance Felix Mutati outlines the government’s macroeconomic plans for the fiscal year 2017. 

So finally the Ministry of Agriculture admitted in parliament on Tuesday 29 September 2016 that the Farmer Input Support (FISP) is actually a flop. How relieving! Did it have to take all these years of experimenting for the Ministry to see this?

The petroleum industry is a key driver to the Zambian economy and high prices of petroleum prices always have a negative impact on economic activity. The high prices of petroleum products in Zambia cannot be discussed in isolation without taking a broader view of the problems obtaining in the petroleum industry.
